In Norway, the significance of biodiversity for humansis perhaps most noticeable through the financial value added from resources harvested from agriculture, forestry and fisheries. Biodiversity is sadly something that is often taken for granted, and many will not realise the value of it until it is gone. It is therefore important to highlight the value of biodiversity for tourism and outdoor recreation as well as its implications for human health. Greater biological diversity also increases resistance against disease.
