At its next meeting on 20 March, the Agency's Management Board will be presented with a view of the desired configuration of the Agency in 5 years' time and the steps necessary to get there, also from the point of view of financial and personnel resources. The aim is to strengthen the long-term planning of Agency development. Identification of main outputs (reports, services) to be delivered and their synchronisation with events and the environmental policy agenda in Europe is a main aspect.

Five-yearly reports on the state of and outlook for the environment in Europe and regular indicator reports on a yearly basis are destined to form the backbone of the Agency reporting activities. The last state-and outlook report: Environment in the European Union at the turn of the century was published last year and in the coming months, the first results from the work on indicators will be added to the Agency website.

Contact persons:
Jytte Keldborg (Work programme)
Ronan Uhel (state-and-outlook reports)
Peter Bosch (indicators in general)
Ann Dom (transport indicators)
