See all EU institutions and bodiesThis dataset helps assess European population’s exposure to air pollutants. It provides a snapshot of air quality based on data from official monitoring stations (via Air Quality e-reporting) in the cities included in the Urban Audit project. It also shows the situation at station level in relation to the different European Union and World Health Organization air quality standards.

Air Quality download service
This is the EEA Download Service provided for accessing air quality measurements time series reported by member countries. Selected time series will be downloaded as zipped Parquet files that are only accessible by scripting or by use of dedicated web-services.
Air Quality Zones and Agglomerations
This series describe the presents of the geometries of the zones and agglomerations reported since 2013 by Member States in compliance with the Ambient Air Quality Directives and successfully validated by the EEA's Quality Control system.
In accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 5 of 2011/850/EU on the reciprocal exchange of information and reporting on ambient air quality, Member States shall make available the information set out in Part B of Annex II to this Decision on the delimitation and type of zones and agglomerations established in accordance with Article 3 of Directive 2004/107/EC and Article 4 of Directive 2008/50/EC and in which the assessment and management of air quality is carried out.
Interpolated air quality data
Interpolated data showing air quality in Europe. The dataset has been reorganised in order to improve data harmonization among years and to facilitate storage and processing of the interpolated maps for the EEA data services. The data are derived primarily from e-Reporting database stations monitoring data, additional EMEP stations monitoring data, supplemented with additional data such as, for instances, altitude, meterological ECMWF data and EMEP concentration modeling data. These maps are assessment tools for use at the European scale. They may show results which differ from assessments made at national scale
