Prospects for EU Member States of meeting the recycling targets for municipal waste and packaging waste

The map shows for each of the 27 EU member states the risk of not meeting the target to prepare for reuse or recycle at least 55% of municipal waste in 2025 and the risk of not meeting the target to recycle at least 65% of packaging waste in 2025.

Methodology

The risk scores are the results of the EEA's 'Early warnning country profiles which will be published together with the briefing as EEA country profiles. The risk scores range from 0 to 100%. Countries with a risk score of 50% or above are considered to not be at risk to miss the respective target, while countries with a risk score of <50% are considered to be at risk of missing the targets that have to be achieved in 2025.
